About this race
Renee L. Holland (Republican) filed and no other candidate filed, so she is unopposed on the November 3, 2026 ballot, per Candidate_Listing_2026.csv. NOTE: this build brief's default assumption is that register of deeds is not on any 2026 North Carolina county ballot, but the certified NCSBE filing list confirms this office is up in Iredell County this cycle (one of 24 counties statewide with a register-of-deeds contest in 2026, per Candidate_Listing_2026.csv), so it is included here.
What this office does
Register of deeds or recorder. The register of deeds records and preserves land records: deeds, mortgages, liens, plats and, in some counties, vital records. Anyone buying, selling or borrowing against property depends on those records being accurate and searchable. The office is administrative; it does not set fees or property values.
This race. Every voter in Iredell County votes on this seat. The sitting officeholder, Renee L. Holland, is on the ballot. One name is on the ballot for this seat.
