Biography

Jo Anne Simon holds a bachelor's degree from Iona College, a master's in education of the deaf from Gallaudet University, and a law degree from Fordham University, which she earned at night while working full time, per her official Assembly biography. Before the Assembly she worked as a judicial law secretary, taught in Hofstra University's law clinical program, and established a disability civil rights law firm in Downtown Brooklyn.
