August 4 primary result: Jered Taylor won the Republican nomination with 62.31 percent of the vote (8,459 votes) over Terry A. Bible's 37.69 percent (5,116 votes), per the Christian County Clerk's official (unofficial-on-election-night) Election Summary Report. No Democrat, Libertarian or independent filed for the seat, and the Springfield Daily Citizen reported Taylor 'will face no opposition in November.' Outgoing Presiding Commissioner Lynn Morris did not seek reelection.

Jered Taylor served in the Missouri House of Representatives from 2015 to 2023, per the Springfield Daily Citizen. Before his legislative career he worked in loss prevention at the Bass Pro Shops store in Branson, and he most recently served on the Springfield district office staff of U.S. Rep. Eric Burlison, per the Springfield Daily Citizen. No campaign website was found as of September 6, 2026.
