Lalani is a physician with nearly three decades of practice in the Sugar Land and Houston area, board certified in internal medicine, geriatric medicine, hospice and palliative medicine, and post-acute and long-term care medicine, per the campaign site. Elected to the Texas House in 2022, he is a founding co-chair of the legislature's AAPI Caucus and serves as vice chair of the House Committee on Land and Resource Management, per the campaign site. He says he passed 36 bills in his first session and worked on 271 bills in his second, per the campaign site.
