Biography

Kamekona is a 22-year veteran of the U.S. Navy and Naval Reserves running for Maui County Council representing Kahului, per the campaign site. A single mother of seven children born in Hilo with family roots in Kohala and Kalapana, Kamekona has served as past president of the ʻAhahui Kaʻahumanu Chapter IV in Wailuku and on the boards of Malama Kakanilua and Hoʻoponopono o Makena, per the campaign site.
