Dominguez is the incumbent Sheridan County Sheriff, elected in 2022 after serving four years as Undersheriff, per his campaign site. He has 23 years of public safety experience, beginning as a firefighter and paramedic before moving into law enforcement with the Sheridan County Sheriff's Office in 2014.
