Mark Warner is Virginia's incumbent U.S. senator and the Democratic nominee for a fourth term in 2026. He drew no Democratic challenger, so Virginia held no Democratic Senate contest on August 4; he faces Republican Bert Mizusawa on November 3.

About Bert Mizusawa

Bert Mizusawa is a retired U.S. Army major general and attorney who won Virginia's August 4 Republican U.S. Senate nomination with 51.5% of the vote, per unofficial returns from the Virginia Department of Elections. He graduated first in his 1979 West Point class and holds the Silver Star for leading a defector to safety under fire during the 1984 Panmunjom firefight in the Korean DMZ, per his campaign materials. He later earned a Harvard Law degree, practiced law, served as a Senate Armed Services Committee staff member and as a deputy under secretary of the Army, and commanded a joint interagency task force in Afghanistan. He faces Democratic incumbent Mark Warner on November 3.
