About the Chesterfield County School Board

The School Board is the governing body of Chesterfield County Public Schools. Its responsibilities include making policy, approving the budget, hiring and evaluating the superintendent, and hearing appeals of discipline and grievance issues, per the school division.

The board has five members, one from each of the county's five magisterial districts, who serve four-year terms. Current terms expire December 31, 2027, so this special election fills the rest of the Clover Hill term, per the school division. Only voters who live in the Clover Hill District vote on this seat, and School Board candidates run without party labels.

Dr. Jenna Darby has served as the interim Clover Hill representative since January 1, 2026 and is not running, per the school division.

Brady graduated from Varina High School and earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Longwood University, per the campaign site. Her career began in behavioral health and she now serves as Head of IT Operations at Marsh McLennan Agency, leading strategy and governance work, per the campaign site.

Biography

Elizabeth L. Schultz represented the Springfield District on the Fairfax County School Board from 2012 to 2019, per The Richmonder. She later worked at the Virginia Department of Education and the U.S. Department of Education and in Virginia's Youngkin administration, and spent more than 25 years as a contracts and negotiations manager for federal agencies including the Department of Justice, Customs Service, Treasury, ATF and Secret Service, per her campaign site. She is the parent of a recent Clover Hill High School graduate.
