Biography

Anne Watson is a candidate for Vermont State Senate in the Washington District, a seat she has held for two terms. She previously served as Mayor of Montpelier and as a Montpelier City Councilor, per her campaign site. She holds a B.S. in physics from Penn State and a Master's degree in Education from the University of Vermont, and has taught science and math at Montpelier High School since 2004. As a Senator, she chaired the Senate Natural Resources and Energy Committee and was a co-lead sponsor of the Climate Superfund bill, which requires large oil companies to pay for climate damage caused by their products.
