May 26 runoff result: Jerry Garza won the Democratic runoff over Carlos "C.Y." Benavides, 58.89% to 41.11%, per KGNS's report on the county's official runoff results. No Republican filed for the seat left open when Tano Tijerina departed to run for Congress, so Garza is the only candidate on the November 3 ballot (Texas prints unopposed nominees), per KGNS's reporting.
