Jefferson is a Houston native who has spent more than 15 years in human resources and 14 years working in the Harris County Justice of the Peace system, per the campaign site. She started as a court clerk in 2012 and rose to chief clerk while working alongside nine judges across five JP courts, per the campaign site.
