Rodriguez has served as Bexar County Commissioner for Precinct 2 since being appointed in January 2019, per the campaign site. He began his career as a juvenile prosecutor in the Bexar County District Attorney's Office, then served on the San Antonio ISD school board, San Antonio City Council, and the Texas House of Representatives for four terms, per the campaign site. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of the Incarnate Word and a law degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, per the campaign site.
