Murray represents Woonsocket and North Smithfield in the Rhode Island Senate, where she chairs the Committee on Health and Human Services and serves as Vice Chair of the Education Committee, per the campaign site. Born and raised in northern Rhode Island, she was elected to the Woonsocket City Council in 2013 as the first openly queer person to serve there, and became the first woman elected to state Senate District 24 in 2018, per the campaign site. She also works for a Woonsocket-based small business, per the campaign site.
