Biography

John Burke retired from the University of Rhode Island in 2019 after 37 years in information technology roles, according to his General Assembly biography. A lifelong West Warwick resident, he sponsored a bill signed into law by Gov. Dan McKee that eliminates marriage licenses for those under 18. Burke represents West Warwick and is Deputy Senate Majority Leader and chair of the Senate Committee on Labor and Gaming. No campaign website was found as of September 11, 2026; the Department of State's declared-candidates report is the only verifiable source for John Burke.
