No candidate reached a majority in the June 16 Republican primary (Jean Hausheer 36.96 percent, Curtis W. Erwin (33.11 percent), Dusty Deevers (29.93 percent)); Curtis W. Erwin won the August 25 runoff with 56.86 percent over Jean Hausheer. Oklahoma nominates by June primary with an August runoff when no candidate reaches a majority; unopposed nominees still print, and independents qualify by filing.
