Schwan spent 19 years as a game warden with the North Dakota Game and Fish Department, followed by roles as a health, safety and environmental director in the energy sector and six years as a commercial lender with First International Bank and Trust, per the campaign site. Schwan now works part time as a bulk fuel hauler for Farmers Union Oil in Watford City, per the campaign site. Schwan is a graduate of Dickinson State University with degrees in business administration and accounting, per the campaign site.
