Wayne S. Boyette currently serves as Chief District Court Judge for District 8, covering Edgecombe, Nash and Wilson counties, per the North Carolina Judicial Branch directory. Boyette was first elected to the court in 2014 and was later appointed chief judge by Chief Justice Paul Newby, per the NC Judicial Branch. He received his undergraduate degree from UNC-Chapel Hill and his law degree from Campbell University's Norman A. Wiggins School of Law, per the Rocky Mount Telegram.
