Gary Weaver retired after 30 years with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, where he supervised troopers in Pitt and Martin counties, and now works with the state's Alcohol Law Enforcement division, per WNCT. He was appointed to the Pitt County Board of Commissioners in September 2025 and is seeking a full term.
