Roper has practiced law for 30 years in Orange and Chatham counties and was appointed a district court judge by Governor Roy Cooper in 2020, per the campaign site. He has presided over thousands of cases spanning juvenile, civil, criminal, custody and domestic violence matters, per the campaign site.
