Biography

David Brake spent about two decades in North Carolina criminal justice, beginning as a correctional officer with the state Department of Corrections and later serving with the Nash County Sheriff's Office from 2002 through retirement, rising from patrol deputy to Major, per his campaign site. He most recently worked as a Lieutenant with UNC Health Nash's Hospital Police and Protective Services division.

Keith Stone is the sitting Nash County sheriff, per the Sheriff's Office. He began his law enforcement career in 1984, served with the North Carolina Highway Patrol from 1987 until retiring in 2012, and holds degrees in law enforcement technology, criminal justice administration and business administration, per the Sheriff's Office biography. He also serves on the board of directors for the Nash County Health Department, per the same source. No campaign website was found as of September 27, 2026.
