George Guise is in-house counsel to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office and has been a state and federal prosecutor of felony cases for more than a dozen years, per his campaign site. Guise has also worked with the Mecklenburg County District Attorney's Office and the U.S. Department of Justice in the Western District of North Carolina, and has practiced civil litigation and criminal defense, per the same source.
