Andrew Murray is the sitting District Attorney for the 42nd Prosecutorial District, appointed in May 2021 and elected to a four-year term in November 2022, per the NC Conference of District Attorneys. He previously served as the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of North Carolina from 2017 to 2021 and as the elected District Attorney for Mecklenburg County from 2010 to 2017, and is a retired U.S. Coast Guard captain.
