New York City Ballot Proposal 1 is a ballot question for a local jurisdiction in Richmond County on the November 3, 2026 ballot. Simplifies the process for using public space for uses such as ramps, planters and sidewalk cafes by removing mandatory hearings and City Council disapproval of sidewalk cafes, while maintaining community and Council input. A yes vote speeds up the process while maintaining community input; a no vote maintains the longer process with mandatory public hearings and Council review of sidewalk cafes.
