Robert Maciol has served as Oneida County Sheriff since taking office on January 1, 2011, and is seeking a fifth term in 2026, per the Sheriff's Office. He began his law enforcement career as a patrolman with the New York Mills Police Department, then spent 21 years with the Whitesboro Police Department, and previously served as Mayor of New York Mills from 2000 to 2010, per the Sheriff's Office.
