He won the Democratic nomination for House District 57 but withdrew from the race for personal reasons; Becky Edwards is now the Democratic nominee for the seat, per the Livingston Enterprise. Ballot status: the Livingston Enterprise reports that Viegut withdrew after the primary and that the party named Becky Edwards for the seat; the Secretary of State's list still showed Viegut as the nominee when checked on September 17, 2026. No campaign website was found as of September 17, 2026.
