Mueller graduated from Winona State University with a degree in English education in 2003 and later earned a master's in curriculum and instruction and a doctorate in education leadership from Minnesota State University Moorhead, per the campaign site. She has worked as an educator for 18 years in the Twin Cities, Blooming Prairie, Indianapolis, Austin and China, and now lives in Austin, Minnesota, per the campaign site.
