Biography

Verdigets was elected to the 23rd Judicial District Court bench in November 2014 and took office in January 2015, presiding in Division A, per the court's official site. He previously was a felony prosecutor in the 23rd Judicial District Attorney's office, where he was named Louisiana's Drug Prosecutor of the Year in 2012, and ran a private general practice beforehand. A 1995 graduate of East Ascension High School, he earned his law degree with honors from Southern University Law Center and has served as chief judge of the district and as president of the Fifth Circuit Judges Association.
