He graduated from West Hardin High School and earned a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Kentucky, per his campaign site. He worked as an engineer at International Harvester and GE before returning to Hardin County in 1988, and has spent 35 years as a business consultant, per his campaign site. He currently serves as Hardin County Judge Executive, per his campaign site.
