Linda Murken grew up on a farm in Franklin Township near Gilbert, graduated from Iowa State University and worked in adult community corrections, ending as Director of the Second Judicial District Department of Correctional Services, per the county's official profile. She retired from corrections in 2010, helped organize the Gilbert/Franklin Township Fire and Emergency Rescue Agency, and has served on the Board of Supervisors since 2019, per her campaign site.
