Republican Mark Elgin Turner unseated four-term incumbent Kathy L. Cooper in the June 16, 2026 primary runoff, 3,446 votes (53.6%) to 2,982 (46.4%), after neither candidate won a majority in the four-way May 19 primary (Cooper 3,472, Turner 2,255, Korey Anderson 1,459, Mark Faul 831), per the Hall County Board of Elections and Registration's official Election Summary Reports. No Democratic, independent or other-party candidate qualified, so Turner is unopposed on the November 3, 2026 general election ballot.
