John W. Fonfara was first elected to the General Assembly in 1986 and is now in his thirteenth Senate term, serving as Deputy President Pro Tempore and chair of the Finance, Revenue and Bonding Committee, per CT Senate Democrats. He holds degrees from the University of Connecticut and Trinity College and is a lifelong Hartford resident, per the same source. No campaign website was found as of September 20, 2026.
