Biography

Sara Hernandez began her career as an LAUSD middle school teacher and founded HYPE, an educational nonprofit for low-income students, before becoming a housing and environmental attorney, per her campaign site. She currently serves on the Los Angeles Community College District Board of Trustees, elected in 2022 as the first Latina on the board in more than a decade.

Biography

Sarah Rascón is a Democratic candidate for California's 26th Senate District. She previously served as a field representative for then-Assemblymember Jimmy Gomez and most recently as Director of County and Regional Affairs for Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, per her campaign website. A first-generation college graduate of UC Merced, she was raised in the El Sereno neighborhood of Los Angeles, per the same source.
