Mike Fong is a community leader and former Los Angeles Community College District trustee who has represented the San Gabriel Valley in the Assembly since 2022, per Fong's campaign site. Before election, Fong worked as director of policy and government relations for the City of Los Angeles Department of Neighborhood Empowerment and as East Area Director for Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, per the same source.
