Biography

Bynum grew up in rural Oregon, joined the U.S. Air Force in 1995 as a power generation specialist, and later earned a degree in electrical engineering from Portland State University, becoming a licensed Professional Engineer in 2010, per the campaign site. He worked on hydropower projects for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers before moving to Ketchikan in 2016 to serve as Electric Director of Ketchikan Public Utilities and was elected to the Ketchikan Gateway Borough Assembly from 2020 to 2024 before joining the Legislature, per the campaign site.
