Ruffridge earned a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Washington State University in 2008 and went on to co-own the Soldotna Pharmacy, the Juneau Drug Company and Alpine Apothecary in Girdwood, per the campaign site. He served on the Soldotna Planning and Zoning Commission and was elected to the Soldotna City Council in 2019 before chairing the Alaska Board of Pharmacy and being elected to the House, per the campaign site.
