Will Barfoot (Republican), Phadra Carson Foster (Democratic) meet on the November 3 ballot; Will Barfoot is the sitting member, per the Legislature's roster. Nominees for this district were chosen at the August 11 special primary under the 2021 Senate map, which a federal appeals court cleared the state to use in May 2026. The May 19 primary results for this district were voided when the map changed; each party's special-primary nominee was unopposed, per the party certifications filed with the Secretary of State. Alabama primaries require a majority (June 16 runoffs); unopposed nominees still print. The field is the party nominee certifications filed with the Secretary of State (Republican amended list of September 2, Democratic amended list of August 24) and the Secretary of State's August 26 independent-candidate certification.
