May 19 Republican primary result (unofficial, per the Calhoun Journal): incumbent Danny Shears was re-nominated with 1,629 votes (53.92 percent) over Bud Turner's 1,392 votes (46.08 percent). No Democrat qualified, so Shears is unopposed on the November 3 ballot.
