Adam Hamawy is a Princeton plastic and reconstructive surgeon and retired Army lieutenant colonel who served as a combat trauma surgeon, attending Rutgers on an ROTC scholarship, per the New Jersey Monitor. He was part of the medical team that treated Tammy Duckworth after her helicopter was shot down in Iraq, and Senators Duckworth and Sanders endorsed him, per The Hill. He would be New Jersey's first Muslim member of Congress, per the New Jersey Monitor.

Gregg Mele is an attorney practicing corporate law, contracts, securities, real estate, and estate planning who previously worked on Wall Street and has taught graduate courses in law and economics, per the New Jersey Globe. A lifelong New Jersey resident raised by blue-collar parents, he was the only Republican to file in the district and receives his first major-party nomination.

Andres Jinete is the Green Party nominee for New Jersey's 12th Congressional District. Jinete is a union member and community organizer who has organized in Bound Brook and central New Jersey around tenants' rights, seniors and working families, according to the campaign site.
