Ty Masterson is the Republican nominee for Kansas governor and president of the Kansas Senate. A longtime legislator and small-business owner, he took 43% of the August 4 Republican vote in a seven-way field with President Trump's endorsement, per the Kansas Reflector. His campaign platform points to a $2 billion tax cut he helped lead and calls Kansas the 16th highest-taxed state; on election night he named property taxes as his top target. He also emphasizes job growth, deregulation, public safety funding and reading and math proficiency. His running mate for lieutenant governor is Jeffrey Klemp, per the Kansas Secretary of State's certified 2026 general election candidate list.
