Biography

Troy Jackson is the new Democratic nominee for Maine's 2026 U.S. Senate race, chosen at a special July 25 nominating convention after Graham Platner suspended his campaign and withdrew from the ballot, per the Maine Democratic Party and NPR reporting. A fifth-generation logger from Allagash and president of the Maine Senate from 2018 to 2024, Jackson challenges Senator Susan Collins in November on working-family costs, health care, and rural Maine.
