Biography
Downing is a combat veteran who served eight years in the U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard's Combat Search and Rescue squadron, including two tours in Afghanistan, per the campaign site. He later worked as a research scientist and educator at NYU's Courant Institute, founded a technology startup and an insurance company, and served in three statewide elected offices in Montana, including State Auditor and Commissioner of Securities and Insurance, per the campaign site.
