Harvey is executive director of the Office of Licensing and Monitoring within the Maryland Department of Human Services and founder of the consulting firm Compendium Hill, per the campaign site. A social worker by training who began her career as a Boston Public Schools guidance counselor, she previously served as an elected member and vice chair of the Baltimore County Board of Education, and holds a psychology degree from the College of William and Mary and a Master of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania, per the campaign site.
