Biography
Phil Scott is Vermont's incumbent governor and the Republican nominee for a sixth two-year term. He drew no Republican primary opponent on August 11 and filed for re-election in person at the Secretary of State's office in May. A former construction company owner and stock car racer who has won repeatedly in a strongly Democratic state, his tenure emphasizes affordability, fiscal restraint, and a moderate, pragmatic brand of Republicanism.
