King owns Lumineo Signs, a company with more than 60 employees statewide, and previously owned King Enterprise Group, a construction company he sold in 2012, per the campaign site. He formerly served as Kansas Secretary of Transportation and comes from a multi-generational farming and construction family near Hesston, per the campaign site. He is the sitting representative for House District 74, married to Peggy, with four children, per the campaign site.
