Maria Luisa "Lulu" Flores is the Democratic incumbent for Texas House District 51, serving since 2022. She is a law partner at Hendler Flores Law, PLLC, with a BA with high honors in government and a JD from the University of Texas, according to her official biography. Before her legislative career she worked for state Rep. Irma Rangel helping draft the state's first domestic violence legislation, and later served as Legislative Director at the Mexican American Bar Association of Texas.
