Biography
Tokuda represented Kaneohe and Kailua in the Hawaii State Senate from 2006 to 2018, chairing the Ways and Means Committee, per the official House biography. She earned a degree in international relations from George Washington University as the first in her family to attend college, and later worked as co-director of CyberHawaii and external affairs director of the Nisei Veterans Memorial Center before her election to Congress, per the official House biography.
