Biography
Beyer is serving his sixth term in the U.S. House and previously served as Virginia's lieutenant governor from 1990 to 1998, per his campaign site and Virginia Mercury. His campaign site says he is the senior House Democrat on the Joint Economic Committee and sits on the Ways and Means Committee and the Science, Space and Technology Committee.
