Biography
Daniel Hawkins is the Republican nominee for Kansas insurance commissioner and the speaker of the Kansas House, unopposed on the August 4 ballot. He served in the Kansas Army National Guard, has worked in employee benefits since 1995, and has represented the 100th House District since 2013. His campaign site says he would cut regulatory barriers that keep carriers out of Kansas and make the insurance department, in his phrase, the most taxpayer-friendly state agency.
