Biography
Chellie Pingree represents Maine's 1st Congressional District. She is an organic farmer and small business owner on North Haven Island who previously served as a school board member and local tax assessor before her election to the Maine State Senate in 1991, per her congressional office. In Congress she serves on the House Agriculture Committee and is founder and chair of the Slow Fashion Caucus, per the same source.
