Clayton is a lifelong Willis resident and Willis High School graduate who holds an undergraduate degree from Sam Houston State University and an MBA from the University of Phoenix, per campaign site. She retired after 22 years as a Civil Rights Investigator with the U.S. Department of Education, enforcing federal anti-discrimination laws in educational institutions, and also served as a Civil Rights Investigator for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, per campaign site.
